Crazy Cowboy Construction is not a large outfit with a call center between the homeowner and the crew. Boone runs the jobs personally, from the first roof walk to the final cleanup, and the name comes from a willingness to take on roofs other crews would rather skip.

Why Boone Climbs Every Roof Himself

A roof that looks straightforward from the ground can turn out to be a steep, awkward, or genuinely dangerous climb once you are actually on it, and older farmhouses and barns around Grayson County are frequently that kind of roof. Rather than quoting sight unseen or sending a crew member up for a quick look, Boone walks the roof personally on every estimate, because the difference between a five-minute repair and a full section replacement is usually only visible once you are standing on the shingles.

That habit started with the kind of jobs a lot of contractors turn down: a steep-pitch barn roof nobody wanted to climb, an old farmhouse with decking nobody wanted to guess at from a ladder, a repair on a roof with a reputation for being difficult to access. Taking those jobs on directly, rather than passing them along, is where the name Crazy Cowboy Construction came from in the first place.

How a Job Actually Runs

Every job starts the same way regardless of size: a full roof walk, photos of anything relevant, and a written scope before any work begins, so there is a clear record of what was found and what is being done about it. We would rather spend the extra time upfront explaining what we see than have a homeowner wondering later why a certain repair was necessary.

We work across Sherman, Denison, Van Alstyne, Howe, Pottsboro, and the smaller towns in between, on houses, barns, shops, and outbuildings alike. Grayson County has a wide mix of property types, and a crew that only knows how to quote a standard subdivision roof misses a lot of what actually needs doing out here.

We keep the crew small on purpose. It means Boone is on site for most jobs personally rather than reviewing a written report from someone else's inspection, and it means the same person you talked to on the estimate is usually the one who checks the finished work before calling the job done. That has been the approach since the first jobs, and it has not changed as the workload has grown.
